Development of a cross-platform habitat networking citizen science mobile app
This citizen science application was developed within the "Habitat networking as a contribution to safeguarding biodiversity in Austria" project. As part of this project, an Austria-wide map of the green habitat axes in Austria is being created.
The spatial location of these green habitat axes is to be evaluated with the aid of a mobile application and any disturbances (barriers) that may be present are to be mapped. This application is made available to expert interest groups (e.g. hunters, nature conservation association, ...) and also represents the central component of citizen science school campaigns.
Our tasks
- Development of Xamarin Forms mobile apps for Android and iOS
- Implementation of a map cache service for offline maps on mobile devices
- Creation of the web backend for campaign administration
- Providing and maintaining test and production system
- Evaluation and visualization of the collected data
